Garletta Germany - is a strength-based leader with 20+ years of experience in Federal, State, & Local HUD Government Regulations. She was born and raised in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. She attended Cheyney University and received a Bachelor of Arts Under-Graduate Degree in 2000. After 14 years with the city, Garletta decided to expand her knowledge of local government and accepted a position in 2018 with Allegheny County Department of Human Services. Where she began working as program monitor in the Bureau of Homeless and Housing Services, in the Office of Community Services. A United Funding Agency, that annually receives 25+ million dollars in federal, state, & local funding streams. She is also a co-owner of Home Within Reach.
Jamila’s professional journey began in 2002 with the Pittsburgh Public Schools, where she spent years inspiring students as a math teacher before pivoting to become a dedicated school counselor. This transition allowed her to merge her foundational Bachelor’s degree in Education with her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. Over more than two decades in public education, she mastered the art of goal-setting, empathetic problem-solving, and guiding individuals through life's complex challenges. Today, as the founder and CEO of Home Within Reach, she channels that exact mission into empowering individuals and families throughout the community. As Co-CEO, Jamila brings this rich counseling and teaching background straight to Home Within Reach. She designed the organization to provide vital, person-centered resources, including Community Participation Support, In-Home and Community Support, Homemaker/Chore services, and Respite care. For Jamila, leading this team is a true full-circle moment—allowing her to build a compassionate environment where clients can safely thrive, gain independence, and keep their goals well within reach.
Born in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, Edgar Jackson Jr. has built a legacy of entrepreneurship, leadership, and community service. From his early beginnings in the culinary arts and beauty industry to becoming a successful business owner and real estate developer, he has remained committed to creating opportunities that empower others. As the Chief Operating Officer of Home Within Reach, Edgar oversees a diverse portfolio that includes restaurants, a home healthcare agency, a real estate company, and multiple residential properties. Through his business ventures, he has created employment opportunities for more than 100 individuals while investing in neighborhoods and promoting economic growth within the Black community. Honored as a 2024 Men of Excellence recipient, Edgar Jackson Jr. is recognized not only for his entrepreneurial achievements but also for his unwavering commitment to uplifting others. His life reflects the belief that true success is measured not by what you achieve for yourself, but by the opportunities you create and the lives you inspire along the way.
